It’s a Trick, Not a Treat!

For several years now, one of our favorite seasonal traditions is friend Natalie’s (a.k.a. Fishdownthestairs) geocaching event called “It’s Not a Trick, It’s a Treat,” which she holds at her place on or around Halloween night. This year, it was on Sunday, October 30, and a good crowd of local geocachers showed up. Natalie always goes all out with food and drink, and sure enough — it was an impressive spread. Brugger and I went as our normal selves (as you may see in the photo above), which, amusingly, actually fooled a couple of folks into thinking they did not know us. Ha-HA!

After the event, Ms. B. and I cruised over to the bar at Green Valley Grill to top off the evening with a couple of glasses of our favorite red vintages.

Unfortunately, for most of the day and part of Halloween evening, we had a steady rain. Still, one intrepid group of young trick-or-treaters came to our door, and we were ready for them. We picked a couple of fairly diverse films to run for the evening — The Witches of Eastwick and Count Dracula (the 1970 Jess Franco version starring Christopher Lee).

Overall, this has been one of the most enjoyable, event-packed Halloween seasons Ms. B. and I have spent together (at least when we’ve not been on foreign soil). Travel plans for next year are in the early stages, so whether we’ll be here or somewhere out yonder remains to be seen. Wherever we are, we’ll be scary.

Hope you are too.

Occasionally, the local wildlife gets a little out of hand.
