June Madness

It's a big month for adaptations of H. P. Lovecraft's short novel, At the Mountains of Madness. Italian filmmaker Michele Boticelli has made an intriguing, 30-minute animated version, capturing the essence of the story with unique style. It's a fairly admirable job, given how much of the novel is given to relating the ancient history of the denizens of the mysterious mountains. I'm quite taken with the film's ending, which neatly references numerous several other Lovecraft tales, such as "The Whisperer in the Darkness" and "The Shadow Over Innsmouth."
